Upcoming: Rebecca Baumann

Bouncy Castle will publish a book on Rebecca Baumann—her first monograph—in partnership with the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and Auckland-based gallery Starkwhite. The Perth-based sculptor is known for her installations exploring the fleeting qualities of light and colour, time and space. Her works can be at once expansive and ephemeral, and often employ playful materials, including confetti, balloons, streamers, smoke, and tinsel. Baumann has recently produced major site-specific installations for Carriageworks, Sydney (2020), Dunedin Public Art Gallery, (2022-2024), and the 2024 Perth Festival. Our book will feature essays by John Barrett-Lennard and Julie Ewington, an interview with the artist by Lauren Gustsell, and shorter pieces by Blair French, Annika Kristensen, Hannah Matthews, Robert Leonard and Danni Zuvela.
